I have recently started to listen to some different music from what I usually listen to, so I thought I would take some time to share some of it with my readers, perhaps you might enjoy it too. I do understand this music isn't for everyone, it won't hurt you to listen though.
Mayer Hawthorne

His music can only be described as sultry soul with a new twist. He was influenced by such artists as Issac Hayes and Barry White and it shows. Hawthorne's music just makes me want to sit back and relax while at the same time I want to get up and sway my hips to the sound of his voice. You would not expect this music to come out of him but it does which makes it even better.
Some of my Favorite songs of his are
and
Fitz and the Tantrums

I can only describe them as 60's R&B funk with a new edge to it. Very nice to listen to while surfing the web, driving in your car, or relaxing with a few beers on the patio.
Walk the Moon

Simply put, their sound is most assuredly indie. This music just makes you want to move and groove. Very rocking beat with great vocals.
Foster the People

While I am sure some of you have heard the song "Pumped Up Kicks", this band has other great songs as well. He has a great sound to his voice. The way the lead singers and the background vocalists voices blends with the music just makes for a very interesting sound all around.
The Cliftones

I have seen them play live, they are awesome!! My friend knows the band and I have met a few of the members. I have also seen the cover band Super Massive (of which quite a few members of The Cliftones also play in) perform several times, both are great. I was actually at this concert, I was down on the floor dancing on the right hand side, you cant see me lol. That guy in the pink shirt was quite drunk when we got there and I knew he would get kicked out. This video was recorded with a friends phone.
